About

homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto - Terence

This season, Maria Mysachenko will debut her Susanna in Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro at the Martinskirche in Basel. Last season, she sang Flora in Benjamin Brittens' The Turn of the Screw in her debut at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg as well as Allegoric Feminine in the new work "Psychosa" at Teatron Theater Arnsberg, which will be renewed in the 2023/24 season. 2022 also saw her debut at the Dvořákova Festival in Olomouc, Czech Republic in another new work, a contemporary interdisciplinary opera involving dance, "Durst".

Other 2023 highlights include Mozarts "Great Mass in C minor" and Medelssohns "Pslam 42" at the Trinitatiskirche in Cologne.

The young soprano was born into a family of musicians in Kiyv and made her debut at the age of 14 as Sophie in Benjamin Britten's children's opera The Little Sweep at the Theater Bonn. At fifteen, she appeared in a film by Dieter Wedel, only to complete her acting studies under Kaca Celan a year later as the youngest full scholarship student in her class. The young soprano began her vocal studies at the HfMT Cologne. A DAAD scholarship brought her in touch with Prof. Tamar Rachum, with whom she continued her studies at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Tel Aviv, where she debuted as Cleopatra in Handel's opera Giulio Cesare in Egitto and completed her Bachelor of Music. That same year, she made her debut as Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute at the Rally Festival in Caesarea. There is a close collaboration with the Opernwerkstatt am Rhein, where she was recently heard as Tchaikovskys' Snegurochka.

As a steady ensemble member of the Kölner Opernkiste, where she regularly performs Pamina, Gretel and Rosina in children's opera for schools across Germany and Europe.

In addition to opera, the concert stage has always been of great importance to Maria Mysachenko: she regularly performs internationally with various orchestras and choirs, especially with repertoire ranging from Baroque to early Romanticism on stages such as the Großes Konzerthaus Solingen, Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz, Haifa Concert Hall, Jerusalem Theatre and Alma Hall Ewen Yehuda.

Her musical career has brought her together with conductors such as Elias Grandy, Thomas Neuhoff, Ronen Borshevsky, Wolfgang Siegenbrink, Barak Tal a.m. as well as directors such as Ingo Kerkhoff, Igor Folwill, Ari Teperberg, Nikolaus Büchel and Oliver Klöter.

She received further musical impulses on courses with Arthur Janzen, Judith Lindenbaum, Inessa Galante, Klesie Kelly, Thomas Heyer, Regina Werner-Dietrich, Dalia Schaechter, as well as Wolfgang Klose and Zlata Khershberg.

Scholarships from tro Musikproduktion, Theater TAS, PROMOS from the DAAD and the Excellence Scholarship from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music supported her artistic development.

In addition to her musical studies, Maria Mysachenko has studied eight languages - several of which she speaks fluently - is a frequent writer for the StrategyPirates® consulting group and completed her studies in History & Musicology (Double B.A., University of Cologne) and International Mediation (M.A., Tel Aviv University) as a MASA grantee.
